  Versus Shade Collapse is the moniker of a Los Angeles-based musician from Medellin, Colombia and through her songs, she explores her musical impulses from a perspective of cross-cultural ideas and themes. She wanders through a landscape of dense indie rock rhythms and chiming pop melodies. Switching between a lighter, more gossamer approach to her pop instincts and a headier rush of rock theatricality. She is able to create a simultaneously cavernous and intimate series of revolving soundscapes. She'll continue to highlight these split rhythmic experiences with her debut record, "I'm Going to Die," April 7, 2016.
  
  With "Hooked," for example, she delivers a collection of shimmering guitar lines, thudding percussive bursts, and dark-hued vocals, leading to an eventual explosion of indie rock catharsis that illuminates her understanding of what makes these sounds work so perfectly together. There's a vast emotional depth to her voice that underlies the song's inherent inclusivity and capacity to relate experience without relying on rote sentiment. She finds a balance between the glistening pop tendencies that thread their way throughout her music and the adrenalized fretwork that leaves char marks on the song's surface.
